In the aftermath of the Great Beef Crash of 1979, Beef City, a mouldering meat production metropolis, is in a state of emergency triggered by multitudes of hostile gangs competing to take control of the streets. The pre-alpha builds are also available for download for free on their IndieDB page, but only includes up to four player support with a limited number of stages. On August 29th, 2014, Gang Beasts was made available on Steam Early Access for US$19.99. The game was Greenlit on Steam and on August 18th, 2014, Double Fine announced that they have picked up the title as part of their Double Fine Presents lineup. The ultimate goal is to force other players out of the arena using their fists and any stage hazards available to them. Online multiplayer is available in beta with only certain maps in it. It is a local multiplayer game for two to eight players that primarily focuses on melee combat. However, it receives frequent updates so its features are gradually receiving improvements.Gang Beasts is the first title from indie developer Boneloaf.
